This trading places visit will explore how a unique project in North Cornwall is tackling local unemployement through an innovative approach to 'retail recycling and re-use'

Re:Source calls itself 'the IKEA of re use' . The centre accepts donations of used furniture and domestic appliances which are cleaned, safety tested and refurbished by a team of local trainees and volunteers and sold in accessible, attractive and purpose-built show rooms.

The visit will explore the background to the project, look at the workshop and sales floor, meet the volunteers and learners and the training team to find out how they help volunteers and staff.

Facilitated networking with likeminded people and a light lunch are included.

The visit is free to  rural social and community organisations operating in the South West and bursaries are available to cover the cost of travel. Places are available for those whose job it is to support rural social and community organisations at a cost of £75.
